Project Scheduler - Defence Industry

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Scheduler/Planner to join a major defence industry programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analysing complex project schedules using Open Plan Professional (OPP) and other industry-standard tools.

Required Security Clearance:

  • Australian Baseline Security Clearance (required)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Open Plan Professional
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide regular status updates to stakeholders
  • Perform critical path analysis and develop recovery strategies
  • Create and monitor return-to-green plans for schedule variances
  • Coordinate with Cost Account Managers for monthly performance reviews
  • Develop detailed proposal schedules (Tier 4) that integrate with master schedules
  • Create and maintain modification and fleet planning schedules
  • Monitor and report on project milestones, dependencies, and risks
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify and resolve scheduling conflicts
  • Provide schedule risk assessments and mitigation strategies
  • Generate customised schedule reports for various stakeholders

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in project scheduling within defence or similar complex industries
  • Advanced proficiency in Open Plan Professional
  • Strong understanding of earned value management principles
  • Experience with critical path methodology and schedule risk analysis
  • Record of developing and maintaining complex, multi-tiered schedules
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
