This area plays a crucial role in providing sustainment support to a diverse array of applications and networks. The mission is to ensure reliable and available services that support Defence strategic outcomes and contribute to both military and business objectives.
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join this team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering complex ICT services within an integrated workforce, anticipating and responding to stakeholder needs, and achieving Defence outcomes. Your expertise will be pivotal in guiding technology strategy, architecture, and governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Governance and Assurance: Provide governance services in support of the ICT Technical Assurance Framework (ICT TAF).
- Architecture Review: Review and validate architecture and technical system design documentation, ensuring alignment with approved patterns and best practices.
- Strategic Contribution: Contribute to strategic technology programs and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistency with approved patterns.
- Modernisation and Efficiency: Drive the modernisation of centralised processing platforms and enhance the efficiency of technology platforms and systems within Defence.
- Expert Advisory: Offer expert advice on private and hybrid cloud technologies, software-defined data centre architectures, automation and orchestration tools, containerisation technologies, Kubernetes, DevOps methodologies, security practices, and end-user compute services (including M365).
- Governance and Leadership: Oversee the review and governance of systems capabilities, ensuring alignment with Defence strategic requirements. Provide leadership and guidance in adopting and adhering to information assurance architectures, strategies, policies, standards, and guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect with a deep understanding of ICT service provision and governance.
- Strong background in cloud technologies, containerisation, Kubernetes, DevOps, and security practices.
- Expertise in end-user compute services and modernisation of technology platforms.
- Ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders and contribute to strategic technology programs.
- Relevant security clearance (NV1 or higher).
