About the role


The PLM Consultant will play a crucial role in implementing and optimising Product Lifecycle Management solutions for defence clients. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy PLM systems that enhance efficiency, data security, and compliance. The successful candidate will provide subject matter expertise on defence industry requirements, configure PLM platforms, and ensure seamless integration with existing enterprise systems. This role requires a balance of technical proficiency, strategic thinking, and excellent client relationship management.
Skills & experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience implementing PLM solutions in defence or aerospace industries
  • Advanced expertise in PLM tools such as Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, Enovia, or Aras Innovator
  • Experience with ILS (Integrated Logistics Support) tools such as S1000D, S2000M, and S3000L
  • Experience with Digital Thread implementation across design, manufacturing, and sustainment
  • Proficient in configuration management practices and tools (CM+, PDMLink)
  • Demonstrated ability to map and optimise complex business processes
  • Current AGSVA security clearance (minimum Baseline, NV1 preferred)
  • Experience in systems engineering methodologies (MBSE, SysML)
  • Strong project management skills and experience with defence project delivery frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders

Preferred:

  • Experience with defence ERP integration (SAP, Oracle)
  • Knowledge of digital twin implementation for defence assets
  • Experience with agile development methodologies
  • Working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and Australian defence export controls
  • Experience with model-based definition (MBD) and model-based systems engineering (MBSE)
  • Understanding of cybersecurity requirements for defence systems (DISP compliance)
  • Experience with PLM cloud deployment models in secure environments
  • Knowledge of service management frameworks (ITIL)
