About the role
As a Healthcare Technical Interoperability Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the implementation and adoption of the FHIR standard across various healthcare systems and platforms. You will work closely with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to define FHIR integration strategies, ensure alignment with organisational goals, and help maximise the value of health data interoperability. This is a highly collaborative, strategic role that requires a deep understanding of FHIR and its application in the healthcare ecosystem.
  • Strategic Planning: Lead the development of strategic initiatives for FHIR adoption, integration, and optimization across healthcare organizations and systems.
  • Consulting & Advisory: Provide expert advice to clients on FHIR standards, data interoperability, and how to leverage FHIR for improved clinical outcomes and operational efficiencies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, including IT, clinical, regulatory, and business teams, to drive alignment and ensure successful FHIR implementations.
  • Solution Design: Assist in the design and development of FHIR-based solutions that meet client requirements and align with industry standards and best practices.
  • Training & Mentorship: Educate internal teams, clients, and partners on FHIR standards, protocols, and implementation strategies through workshops, training sessions, and documentation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with advancements in the FHIR standard, health IT trends, and regulatory requirements to ensure the organisation remains at the forefront of interoperability initiatives.

Skills & experience
  • 8 + Years in health IT, specifically with the FHIR standard, and in advising or consulting on strategic FHIR adoption and implementation.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare data interoperability, including HL7, CCD, CDA, and other healthcare data exchange standards.Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to implement complex technology solutions.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations and standards, including HIPAA, HITRUST, and ONC certifications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts and create actionable strategies for organizations at all stages of FHIR adoption.
  • Relevant certifications or advanced training in FHIR (e.g., HL7 Certified FHIR Professional) is a plus.
