About the Role:
The Project Management Office (PMO) is seeking a skilled and experienced Program Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in supporting the delivery of the 24/25 Project Portfolio in line with our Project Management Framework. As a Program Analyst, you will work closely with the Discipline Leader Digital Science eResearch Portfolio and Resourcing to ensure the successful execution of various responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Portfolio Financial Management:
    • Prepare and oversee Portfolio Financial Reports.
    • Coordinate the preparation of new funding bids and related reporting.
    • Manage end-of-month and end-of-financial-year reconciliation processes.
  • Governance and Reporting:
    • Conduct quality checks of project reports and artefacts.
    • Provide expert advice and feedback to Project Managers.
    • Serve as the Secretariat for governance groups.
    • Develop and update templates and processes.
    • Assist in the continual improvement of existing processes and templates, and support the development of new ones.
    • Monitor and enforce the use of templates and standard processes.
  • Support and Quality Assurance:
    • Assist with the on-boarding and induction of new Project Managers and project resources.
    • Provide feedback and quality assurance for all artefacts and deliverables.
    • Aid in project resource management, procurement, and contracting as needed.
    • Ensure quality checks of risk management plans and assist in the mitigation and resolution of issues.
Essential Criteria:
  1. Proven experience in managing Portfolio Financial Reports, coordinating funding bids, and running financial reconciliation processes.
  2. Expertise in governance and reporting, including quality checks of project reports and artefacts, providing advice to Project Managers, serving as a Secretariat for governance groups, and developing/updating templates and processes.
  3. Ability to assist in improving existing processes and templates, and in the development of new ones.
Desirable Criteria:
  1. Experience with Defence finance reporting tools.
